How It Works
Our patented system manages your HVAC equipment, reducing your energy bills by up to 43%. While making your guests more comfortable. Energy Manager installs in buildings under construction, or buildings that are 100 years old. Installation is quick and clean.
Your HVAC Equipment
If you have any of these systems, we can reduce your energy cost by up to 43%:
- PTACS (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners). You'll notice these heat/cool units in Hotel guestrooms and University dorms. PTACS are built into the wall, and provide heating/cooling for each room. They have push-button HI/MED/LO controls, or sometimes a red/blue dial for hot/cold.
- PTHP (Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps). Similar to PTACS, above.
- FAN COIL UNITS. Common in older buildings, Fan Coil Units are built-in "boxes" that blow air over hot/cold water pipes to heat/cool each room. They're like radiators, plus fans.
- BASEBOARD ELECTRIC HEAT. Metal strips that provide heat.
- ROOFTOP HVAC. Those large "boxes" on rooftops that provide heat and air conditioning.
- THRU-WINDOW UNITS*. Unfortunately, most thru-window HVAC units cannot accept external controls such as Energy Manager. However, we supply a complete line of thru-window units (and PTACS) which DO accept external controls, and do work with Energy Manager.

Energy Manager Components
Building Network
Energy Manager networks your entire building together, without cables. Our patented building network is the most vital feature, as it gives you centralized monitoring/control of your entire property. Competing systems generally don't offer a building network. But when they do, they typically require the installation of expensive/ugly cables to link your rooms together. We're wireless - no cables. And we're not limited to rooms/apartments - Energy Manager can control every part of your building. Our wireless network "talks" room to room, down to your desk/office. And it's reliable, since the wireless "mesh network" is self-healing. So if a room were to drop out, the remaining rooms still communicate with the network.
Software
Energy Manager Software drives your building network, enabling you to save in ways other systems don't offer. For full Software features, see the previous page, "Your Savings."

Hardware
Energy Manager Hardware links your entire building together, allowing centralized monitoring and control of your HVAC, common areas and lighting.
- Precision Thermostat - The precision digital thermostat is conveniently located so occupants can adjust their guestroom temperature (within the high/low limits you program through the software). It sends wireless RF (radio frequency) signals to the Control Node. Unlike other companies, we DON'T use infrared signals, as those are easily blocked by furniture and curtains.
- Control Node - The control node is mounted inside the guestroom HVAC unit, and controls the unit according to instructions sent by wireless RF from the room's thermostat. The Nodes "talk" through the wall/ceiling to other rooms, creating the patented Mesh Network that links your entire building together. The Control Node is completely hidden from view (unlike other systems which hang ugly infrared receivers on your HVAC units).
- Occupancy Sensor - The occupancy sensor mounts above the doorframe inside each guestroom, and senses when guests enter/exit.
- Door Switch - The door switch works with the occupancy sensor to determine when guests enter/exit. The door switch mounts in the doorframe, on the hinge side, making it practically invisible.
- Management PC - The "central command" for your building, this computer is located at your front desk or office. Or, you can login remotely from any computer with internet access, and control your building from home, even from vacation.
Looking At Other Systems?
What's The Bottom Line?
WITHOUT the Energy Manager Network harnessing your building together, you can't find where to save energy; can't schedule heating/cooling; can't forecast use; can't link with front desk software to stop heating/cooling unsold rooms; can't reduce Expected Demand; can't benefit from a database to compare periods; can't limit peak usage; can't get paid by Demand Response programs; can't discover problems until guests complain or demand givebacks; and can't adjust anything without walking room to room every time.
WITH Energy Manager, you save up to 43% off your energy bills, forever.
